The adventures of the sailor man and his friends in the seaside town of Sweethaven.

Nieustraszony marynarz przybywa do miasta "Sweet Haven", a tam poznaje kobietę,
która staje się miłością jego życia. Spotyka również ogromnego pirata Bluto, z którym
zaczyna rywalizować o swoją ukochaną. Popeye uwielbia szpinak, a po zjedzeniu tego
przysmaku, nabiera ogromnej siły. Film jest fabularną wersją komiksu, wcześniej też powstał
