Darkthrone to legenda. To oczywiste jak śnieg w Norwegii. Dwaj Skandynawowie dawno już opuścili wszelkie ramy gatunkowe pozwalając sobie na niczym nieskrępowaną twórczość i wystawiają obrazowego „faka” każdemu, komu się to nie podoba. I chwała im za to. Takie poczynania tylko potęgują zainteresowanie każdym kolejnym albumem od czasów „The Underground Resistance”, gdyż osobiście okres romansu z punkiem podczas 3-ech poprzedzających podany wyżej album nie interesuje mnie mówiąc krótko. Doceniam jednak tę kontrowersyjną, ale patrząc przez pryzmat czasu, udaną próbę wyjścia poza ramy black metalu.

Na najnowszy album Astral Fortress powiem szczerze nieco się napaliłem. Po usłyszeniu singlowego „Caravan of Broken Ghosts” poczułem miłe wibracje, które przyniosły mi brzmienia „Arctic Thunder”, najlepszej jak dla mnie płyty od czasu „punkthrona” i powrotu do bardziej metalowych brzmień. Black metalowy odór wzmaga także okładka, choć dziwna, przedstawia osobę jadącą na łyżwach
