The name Colin McRae means so much to so many people in and outside the world of motorsports. The Scot remains a legendary figure in rallying after becoming the first ever British WRC champion in 1995, while his record as the youngest champion, at just 27-years-old, still stands. For gamers of a certain age, Colin McRae will forever be associated with the ground-breaking and still iconic, Colin McRae’s Rally.
Arriving in 1998, the game set the benchmark for rally sims, with its excellent visuals, emphasis on authenticity and stunning handling building a legacy that can still be felt today. Now, to mark the 25-year anniversary of McRae's championship win, Codemasters are introducing the new Colin McRae: FLAT OUT Pack to the stunning sim DiRT Rally 2.0.
The DLC will offer fans a chance to relive some of McRae's most memorable racing moments and introduce a whole new generation of gamers to the name that became synonymous with the racing genre. We spoke with Ross Gowing at Codemasters, game director for DiRT Rally 2.0, who told us more about what we can expect from thelatest addition to the game.
