Może być zainstalowany w systemie na żywo. Podczas instalacji zostaną zainstalowane:
- 32-bitowe wersje pakietu redystrybucyjnego Microsoft Visual C++ 2005-2008-2010-2012-2013-2015-2019 w 32-bitowych systemach operacyjnych.
- 32-bitowe i 64-bitowe wersje pakietu redystrybucyjnego Microsoft Visual C++ 2005-2008-2010-2012-2013-2015-2019 w 64-bitowych systemach operacyjnych.

Podczas instalacji zestawu wykonywane jest wyszukiwanie i usuwanie wcześniej zainstalowanych 32-bitowych i 64-bitowych wersji Microsoft Visual C++ 2005-2008-2010-2012-2013-2015-2019-2022 Redistributable.

Domyślnie zestaw jest instalowany z ukrywaniem wycinków MSI (False). Pakiet redystrybucyjny Microsoft Visual C ++ 2012 będzie instalowany tylko w systemach operacyjnych począwszy od systemu Windows Vista SP2 i nowszych.
