Niepełnosprawna Nica (Fiona Dourif)  jest pogrążona w żałobie po tajemniczej śmierci matki (Chantal Quesnelle). Do domu, w którym mieszka dziewczyna, przyjeżdża jej siostra (Danielle Bisutti) wraz z rodziną. Wkrótce w okolicy dochodzi do niewyjaśnionych zbrodni. Nica zaczyna mieć dziwne przeczucie, że odpowiedzialna za nie jest przerażająca, rudowłosa lalka, którą niedawno otrzymała w przesyłce.
