Pinball FX to reboot zapoczątkowanej w 2007 roku serii zręcznościowych symulatorów pinballa. Produkcja została opracowana przez czuwający nad marką, wyspecjalizowany w tym gatunku zespół Zen Studios.
Zabawa w Pinball FX nie odbiega zbytnio od tego, do czego przyzwyczaiły nas inne flippery. Rozgrywka toczy się na stole prezentowanym z góry, po którym toczy się metalowa kulka. My natomiast kontrolujemy dwie „łapki” znajdujące się u podstawy ekranu. Odbijamy nimi kulkę, starając się robić to w taki sposób, by trafiała ona w różne elementy stołu, po drodze przelatując między innymi przez specjalne bramki. Jednocześnie musimy uważać, by kulka nie wpadła do otworu znajdującego się pomiędzy paletkami. Za każde trafienie zdobywamy punkty, których liczba zależy między innymi od długości serii odbić, a także od tego, w które elementy planszy uda nam się wycelować.
Omawiana pozycja może się pochwalić szerokim wachlarzem różnorodnych stołów, wśród których prym wiodą konstrukcje inspirowane głośnymi markami, jak Indiana Jones, Gwiezdne wojny czy seria Homeworld. Poza tym gra pozwala nam stworzyć wirtualny pokój gier, który możemy przyozdobić dodatkami kosmetycznymi odblokowanymi podczas zabawy.
Pinball FX może się pochwalić oprawą graficzną wysokiej jakości; stoły zachwycają bogactwem detali i różnorodnością.
