Film animowany "Transformers: Początek" jest inny niż poprzednie filmy akcji. Powraca do początków serii. Wraca do miejsca, w którym wszystko się zaczęło - na Cybertronie, planecie, z której pochodzą Transformery. Historia jest wierna początkom poprzednich komiksów i seriali telewizyjnych. Głównymi bohaterami są Optimus Prime i Megatron, którzy zaczynali jako przyjaciele. Widzowie zobaczą, co stało się z tymi postaciami i jak stali się wrogami. Wyjaśnia również, w jaki sposób rozpoczęła się wojna między Autobotami i Deceptikonami.
