Nieważne są przyczyny, ważny jest efekt, a ten jest taki, że coraz więcej zakurzonych dinozaurów thrash'owych wyłazi z szafy i nie tylko znowu aktywnie koncertuje, ale również nagrywa nowy materiał. La Parranda Magna to meksykański zespół ska powstały w lutym 2001 roku. Zadebiutował 8 marca tego samego roku na Wydziale Chemii Uniwersytetu w Mexico City. Pod koniec 2001 roku nagrał swoje pierwsze demo, a w 2002 wydał debiutancki album. Skład zespołu to David Gutierrez (wokal, bas), Enrique Calderon (trąbka), Alejandro Flores (saksofon), Andres Equihua (gitary) i Juan Garcia (bębny). Zespół wydał 10 płyt. La Kruda Realidad to druga płyta zespołu.

Red Hot Chili Peppers to kalifornijski zespół grający głównie funk rock. Powstała w Los Angeles w 1983. Obecny skład grupy tworzą wokalista Anthony Kiedis, gitarzysta John Frusciante, basista Michael Flea Balzary i perkusista Chad Smith. Zróżnicowany styl muzyczny zespołu połączył tradycyjny funk z elementami innych stylów, w tym rocka alternatywnego, punk rocka, i rocka psychodelicznego. Oprócz Kiedisa i Balzary'ego w skład grupy pierwotnie wchodzili gitarzysta Hillel Slovak i perkusista Jack Irons. Slovak zmarł w 1988 r. z powodu przedawkowania heroiny, powodując odejście Ironsa. Na miejsce Ironsa do zespołu szybko wszedł dawny perkusista Dead Kennedys D.H. Peligro, do momentu gdy zespół znalazł stałego zamiennika w osobie Smitha, Slovak zaś został zastąpiony przez początkującego i obiecującego gitarzystę Johna Frusciantego.
