Grupa powstała w grudniu 1987 roku, z inicjatywy Krzysztofa Grabowskiego i Andrzeja Kozakiewicza, ówczesnych studentów poznańskiego uniwersytetu. W 1989 roku nagrali swój
pierwszy materiał, zatytułowany Ulice jak stygmaty. Zespół zadebiutował na Festiwalu w Jarocinie i festiwalu w Sopocie.
W 1990 roku zespół Pidżama Porno nagrał w Szczecinie drugą płytę, zatytułowaną Futurista. Zespołowi w chórkach towarzyszyła nieznana jeszcze wówczas wokalistka
Kasia Nosowska. Z powodu rozpadu zespołu w 1990 ww. album ujrzał światło dzienne dopiero 1996 roku. Grupa zdążyła jeszcze zagrać kolejny raz na festiwalu w Jarocinie

Born in 1963 at Lignières in Central France, Gilles Chabenat began playing the hurdy-gurdy at 13 with Les Thiaulins, an association devoted to folk arts and traditions. Following private lessons with Georges Simon, he won several music awards and subsequently devoted himself to his region’s traditional repertoire with a desire to branch out into other musical styles.

In the wake of Valentin Clastrier, he thus felt the need to reinvent the instrument and the playing techniques associated with it. Around that time and after several years of research, luthier Denis Siorat developed a contemporary-style -acoustic instrument which facilitated the integration of the hurdy-gurdy into the modern musical experience.

Elegis, czyli twór, który w pierwszych latach działalności był jednoosobowym projektem dorobił się przed wydaniem drugiej płyty bardziej pełnego składu. Głównodowodzący – Baron, wspomagany przez dwóch doświadczonych muzyków wydał całkiem niedawno następcę dobrze przyjętego „Superhuman Syndrome”. Co ważne, uzupełnienie składu nie wpłynęło znacząco na styl w jakim obraca się Elegis. Nadal jest to potężny, dość nowocześnie brzmiący death metal na sterydach. Dziś takie granie nie jest już specjalnie popularne, ale w pierwszych latach XXI wieku sporo było zespołów penetrujących takie właśnie muzyczne rejony. Pełno bardzo wyrazistych riffów, sporo motywów na dużych szybkościach, ale też między tym miażdżące zwolnienia. Od czasu do czasu wyłaniające się zręby melodii, szczególnie przy solówkach, generalnie jednak cała masa przytłaczającego, siłowego riffowania.
