Dość już miziania się z postgrunge'ową nijakością - Alter Bridge wreszcie odpalili stuprocentową hardrockową petardę!

Fani Creed muszą mi wybaczyć, ale nigdy nie trafiał do mnie fenomen tego zespołu - kwartet głaskał się z ciężarem, poszukiwał fajnych melodii, ale moim zdaniem nie stworzył (jak dotąd) niczego ponadczasowego. Ot, kolejna szara kapela na kartach muzycznej historii. Podobnie było z Alter Bridge - co prawda twórczość tego zespołu daleko bardziej przypadła mi do gustu, głównie ze względu na fenomenalny wokal Mylesa Kennedy'ego, ale i tu brakowało mi potężnego uderzenia. Po zapoznaniu się z "Fortress" nie brak mi już niczego.

Mamy bowiem do czynienia z klasyczną hardrockową płytą (pozdrowienia dla Avenged Sevenfold), pełną świetnych riffów, zapadających w pamięć refrenów, misternie utkanych solówek, ubogaconą zwolnieniami i balladami… A nad wszystkim góruje wielki głos Mylesa. Właściwie od pierwszego dźwięku słuchacz wie, że obcuje z kapitalną płytą
