The back-to-back success of The Stranger and 52nd Street may have brought Billy Joel fame and fortune, even a certain amount of self-satisfaction, but it didn't bring him critical respect, and it didn't dull his anger. Conventional wisdom has it that all the B-52's' subsequent releases are highly inferior to their debut. While Wild Planet is not the rarefied wonder their first platter is, it's still darn good. The songs here are generally faster, tighter, and punchier than previously, though production values are not as wonderfully quirky and detailed; fewer songs here are as over-the-top crazy as the first album's "Rock Lobster" or "52 Girls." These formless selections continue to exhibit a cunning mix of girl group, garage band, surf, and television theme song influences, all propelled along by an itchy dance beat. From the outset, U2 went for the big message -- every song on their debut album Boy sounds huge, with oceans of processed guitars cascading around Bono's impassioned wail. Signing on with Deep Purple/Black Sabbath producer Martin Birch, Blue Öyster Cult made more of a guitar-heavy hard rock album in Cultosaurus Erectus after flirting with pop ever since the success of Agents of Fortune. (They also promoted this album by going out on a co-headlining tour with Sabbath.) Gone are the female backup singers, the pop hooks, the songs based on keyboard structures, and they are replaced by lots of guitar solos and a beefed-up rhythm section. But the band still were not generating strong enough material to compete with their concert repertoire, so they found themselves in the bind of being a strong touring act unable to translate that success into record sales.

Many had left Black Sabbath for dead at the dawn of the '80s, and with good reason -- the band's last few albums were not even close to their early classics, and original singer Ozzy Osbourne had just split from the band. Since Neil Peart joined the band in time for 1975's Fly by Night, Rush had been experimenting and growing musically with each successive release. By 1980's Permanent Waves, the modern sounds of new wave (the Police, Peter Gabriel, etc.) began to creep into Rush's sound, but the trio still kept their hard rock roots intact. The new approach paid off -- two of their most popular songs, the "make a difference" anthem "Freewill," and a tribute to the Toronto radio station CFNY, "The Spirit of Radio" (the latter a U.K. Top 15 hit), are spectacular highlights. Powstał latem 1981 w Miastku, założony przez wokalistę/basistę Jaromira Krajewskiego, gitarzystów Wiesława Wójtowicza i Leszka Weissa oraz perkusistę Macieja Kupca.
Grupa zadebiutowała w sierpniu na "Rockowych Spotkaniach Młodych – Miastko '81". W lipcu następnego roku muzycy wystąpili na festiwalu Rock na Pojezierzu w Brodnicy, gdzie
zdobyli pierwsze miejsce. W sierpniu zagrali na krakowskim "Open Rock" (stając się jednym z laureatów imprezy obok TZN Xenny i Trawnika).
W tym samym miesiącu pojawili się na "III Ogólnopolskim Przeglądzie Muzyki Młodej Generacji w Jarocinie".

Winter Rose był kanadyjskim zespołem glam metalowym, w skład którego wchodzili wokalista James LaBrie, gitarzysta i basista Richard Chycki oraz perkusista Randy Cooke. Byli aktywni od połowy do późnych lat 80-tych, wydając swój pierwszy i jedyny album,w 1987 roku. Niedługo potem LaBrie przeniósł się do progresywnego giganta Dream Theater, a Richard Chycki został inżynierem w MetalWorks Studios, współpracujący z innymi zespołami, takimi jak Rush z Alexem Lifesonem. Rozpadli się i nie mają zamiaru wracać do Winter Rose.

Zespół założyli w 1995 r. Jonas Nilsson (wokal/gitara), Niklas Sjöström (gitara basowa) oraz Torstein Wickberg (gitara) przyjmując początkowo nazwę Frost, którą zmieniali następnie na Vinternaat, Forlorn, a potem na Frozen in Time. Po wspólnych próbach z wieloma perkusistami stanowisko tegoż objął ostatecznie Dennis Ekdahl, grupa natomiast po raz kolejny zmieniła nazwę na In Cold Blood, po czym zarejestrowała kasetę demo ujętą tytułem Nailed. Czteroutworowym materiałem zainteresowała się niemiecka Nuclear Blast z którą grupa podpisała wkrótce kontrakt, jednakże z uwagi na istnienie pochodzącej z USA innej formacji o tej samej nazwie, doszło po raz kolejny do zmiany szyldu – jeszcze przed rozpoczęciem sesji nagraniowej zespół przemianował się ostatecznie na Raise Hell, wydając w 1998 r. swój debiutancki album Holy Target. V.S.O.P. is a landmark album in the history of jazz, though not at all in the way it was intended. George Wein organized a Herbie Hancock retrospective concert at the 1977 Newport Jazz Festival in New York where three bands from Hancock's past and present -- the 1965-1968 Miles Davis Quintet with Freddie Hubbard deputizing for the indisposed Miles, the 1969-1973 sextet, and Hancock's then-current jazz-funk outfit -- would share the stage.

As things turned out, it was the Miles band reunion that grabbed most of the attention, leading to several tours which in turn inspired a whole generation of young musicians (led by Wynton Marsalis) to turn their backs upon electronics and make bop-grounded acoustic jazz the lingua franca of jazz for the rest of the 20th century.

Sceptic – polska grupa muzyczna wykonująca technical death metal. Powstała w 1994 roku w Krakowie. Do 2005 roku ukazały się cztery albumy studyjne zespołu pozytywnie oceniane zarówno przez krytyków jak i publiczność. Formacja pomimo częstych zmian składu wypracowała rozpoznawalne brzmienie inspirowane dokonaniami amerykańskiego zespołu Death. Grupie przewodzi gitarzysta Jacek Hiro, który pozostaje jedynym członkiem oryginalnego składu.
Pathetic Being – drugi album studyjny. Wydawnictwo ukazało się 20 kwietnia 2001 roku nakładem wytwórni muzycznej Empire Records[3]. Nagrania zostały zarejestrowane i zmiksowane w olsztyńskim Selani Studio we wrześniu 2000 roku. Z kolei mastering odbył się w październiku tego samego roku również w Selani Studio.
