Many had left Black Sabbath for dead at the dawn of the '80s, and with good reason -- the band's last few albums were not even close to their early classics, and original singer Ozzy Osbourne had just split from the band. But the Sabs had found a worthy replacement in former Elf and Rainbow singer Ronnie James Dio, and bounced back to issue their finest album since the early '70s, 1980's Heaven and Hell. The band sounds reborn and re-energized throughout. Several tracks easily rank among Sabbath's all-time best, such as the vicious album opener, "Neon Knights," the moody, mid-paced epic "Children of the Sea," and the title track, which features one of Tony Iommi 's best guitar riffs. Since Neil Peart joined the band in time for 1975's Fly by Night, Rush had been experimenting and growing musically with each successive release. By 1980's Permanent Waves, the modern sounds of new wave (the Police, Peter Gabriel, etc.) began to creep into Rush's sound, but the trio still kept their hard rock roots intact. The new approach paid off -- two of their most popular songs, the "make a difference" anthem "Freewill," and a tribute to the Toronto radio station CFNY, "The Spirit of Radio" (the latter a U.K. Top 15 hit), are spectacular highlights. V.S.O.P. is a landmark album in the history of jazz, though not at all in the way it was intended. George Wein organized a Herbie Hancock retrospective concert at the 1977 Newport Jazz Festival in New York where three bands from Hancock's past and present -- the 1965-1968 Miles Davis Quintet with Freddie Hubbard deputizing for the indisposed Miles, the 1969-1973 sextet, and Hancock's then-current jazz-funk outfit -- would share the stage.

As things turned out, it was the Miles band reunion that grabbed most of the attention, leading to several tours which in turn inspired a whole generation of young musicians (led by Wynton Marsalis) to turn their backs upon electronics and make bop-grounded acoustic jazz the lingua franca of jazz for the rest of the 20th century.

No country singer had as smooth a touch as Ronnie Milsap. Blending country and soul so elegantly it could often appeal to a pop audience. Milsap also had deep roots in soul. Long before he was a fixture on the country charts -- during his prime, he racked up 35 number one hits -- Milsap cracked the R&B charts with a version of Ashford & Simpson's "Never Had It So Good," and that familiarity with rhythm & blues was apparent throughout his work. Nevertheless, his strength lay in taking it easy, a quality evident on "Pure Love," his breakthrough number one in 1974.

This is a solid, albeit random assessment of Milsap's first seven years in country music. The Chicks spent the first half of the '90s toiling away on the independent bluegrass circuit, releasing three albums on small labels, before sisters Martie Seidel and Emily Robison decided to revamp their sound in 1995, adding Natalie Maines as their lead singer and, in the process, moving the group away from bluegrass and toward a major label with Sony/Columbia's revived Monument Records imprint. After spending much of the '90s touring and simply not writing songs, Bob Dylan returned in 1997 with Time Out of Mind, his first collection of new material in seven years. Where Under the Red Sky, his last collection of original compositions, had a casual, tossed-off feel, Time Out of Mind is carefully considered, from the densely detailed songs to the dark, atmospheric production. Sonically, the album is reminiscent of Oh Mercy, the last album Dylan recorded with producer Daniel Lanois, but Time Out of Mind has a grittier foundation -- by and large, the songs are bitter and resigned, and Dylan gives them appropriately anguished performances. Lanois bathes them in hazy, ominous sounds, which may suit the spirit of the lyrics, but are often in opposition to Dylan's performances. Consequently, the album loses a little of its emotional impact, yet the songs themselves

This is an album by Ronnie Wood and Bo Diddley recorded live at the Ritz New York City, 1987. Songs played by the two guitarists include songs by Ron Wood, Bo Diddley, The Faces and the Rolling Stones. Rolling Stone and The Originator combine their efforts while performing at the Ritz in New York City in 1987.
Most of the songs are Bo Diddley's originals, already classics of Blues. Others are written by Ron Wood, The Rolling Stones and The Faces. Songs vary from shorter versions to compositions that spin more than 7 minutes featuring guitar work of B & Ronnie as well as done on instrumental "Plynth".

Two guitars lead the album (guitarists sing as well and one is Ron Wood to surprise of many), but harp and keyboard playing by keyboardist Hal Goldstein should be emphasized.

Tak czy siak, z jakiegoś powodu, Wolfenstein 3D i Spear of Destiny, podbiły gatunek strzelanek pierwszoosobowych i przyniosły swoim legendarnym twórcom, id Software, światowy rozgłos i wiele nagród. Faktem jest, że The Computer Gaming World Hall of Fame uznało Wolfenstein 3D za grę, która pomogła wyznaczyć kierunek dla całego przemysłu gier.
