W końcu lutego MERCENARY przedstawił nowy album wydany przez NoiseArt Records i Prosthetic Records.
Ten zespół, o bardzo ugruntowanej pozycji i wysokiej renomie, przeszedł poważny kryzys w roku 2009. Odejście braci Sandager i Nielsena spowodowało, że wielu już postawiło na nich krzyżyk. Niepotrzebnie i zbyt pośpiesznie.

Grupa nadal gra nowoczesny metal, oparty na gothenburgskim melodic death metalu w tej formie, jaką prezentują obecnie także i IN FLAMES i SOILWORK i armia naśladowców i ta płyta pokazuje, że w takim graniu nadal można coś zdziałać, mimo natłoku i przesytu. Melodie, udane melodie to największy atut tego albumu. Są atrakcyjne i mają sporo z tego klimatu, jaki był na "The Hours That Remain". Jest ostro i krzykliwie, a nawet brutalnie, potem zaraz łagodnie, świetne czyste refreny. Były słodkie i pełne kiczu albumy Dragonforce, Victorious i gdzieś w podobnym klimacie próbuje grać kanadyjski Striker, który na początku swojej kariery serwował wysokiej klasy heavy/speed metal, który był hołdem dla speed metalu lat 80. 6 lat przerwy, dojście w 2022 r gitarzysty Johna Simona Fallona i w końcu nowy materiał. "Ultrapower" ukaże się 2 lutego nakładem Record breaking records.

Speed metal nie gra już głównej roli i zszedł na dalszy plan. Band wysunął przed szeregi patenty cechujące kapele grające glam metal, hair metal, czy też nawet hard rock. Przebojowość i nacisk na chwytliwe melodie został. W efekcie wyszedł nam album, który brzmi jak osadzenie muzyki typu def leppard, steel panther w stylizacji heavy/speed metalowej. Brzmi to nawet nie najgorzej. Kiedy kicz nie przekracza normalnej dawki i wszystko jest zagrane z sensem. Polska grupa muzyczna wykonująca w początkowym okresie działalności black metal, a później prezentująca muzykę z gatunku ambient z wpływami industrialu. Zespół powstał w 1993 roku w Zielonej Górze z inicjatywy muzyków o pseudonimach: Geryon (muzyka, teksty), Vlad Ysengrimm (śpiew, teksty) oraz Lord Reyash (gitara basowa, śpiew).

Od 1997 roku z zespołem współpracuje wytwórnia muzyczna Pagan Records. Do 2005 roku ukazało się sześć wydawnictw grupy, które cieszyły się uznaniem krytyków muzycznych, jednakże zespół nie prowadzi działalności koncertowej w związku z dużymi kosztami organizacyjnymi. Publikacje na temat grupy zamieszczano w takich czasopismach jak: „Metal Hammer”, „Thrash'em All”, „Mystic Art” czy „7 Gates”. Od 2005 roku brak jest doniesień o działalności zespołu.
