Z ocenianiem albumów pokroju Swansong i z zespołami tak zasłużonymi jak Carcass, które wydadzą taki album, będzie zawsze duży problem. Dlaczego? Kto zna muzykę ze Swansong ten wie, jaka jest odpowiedź lub szybko ją znajdzie. Formacja, która była jedną z tych, które reformowały scenę grind/death nagrywa album hard rockowy, czy jak kto woli death ’n’ roll-owy. To właśnie jest powodem rodzącym trudności w ocenie. Muzyka ze Swansong jest naprawdę świetna, ale gdy dochodzi do konfrontacji z wcześniejszymi albumami nietrudno o jakieś zawiedzenie. Dlatego ja uważam, że takiego albumu jak Swansong nie należy porównywać z poprzednimi dokonaniami. Bo jak porównywać rock z ekstremalnym patologicznym grindowaniem? Nie da się! a więc jak się nie da, to nawet nie będę próbował tego robić. Może taki album należałoby traktować jako odrębny projekt muzyków Carcass?
