Overall this is an amazing performance from the most primal and brutal band of all time. Another interesting note would be that during this concert there were very few of the infamous Black Flag audience altercations. One tall, drunk guy was trying to feel Rollins up at one point and a few weak punkers in the front row yelled some inaudible obscenties at Rollins during Rat's Eyes......but nothing serious. The whole thing ends with Rollins telling the two kids that he doesn't care what they think and that they don't make him feel bad about himself.

Now, on to the technical portion of this DVD.....it is very lite on extras. There is a discography section, a Cherry Red catalogue and scene selection....along with a creepy shot of Rollins on the Menu screen....but nothing else. The quality of the video is the best of any Black Flag video I have seen (with the exception of some of the live clips off of "

Od kilku lat Zoharum wznawia kolejne płyty belgijskiej legendy sceny niezależnej Hybryds, których dotychczas ukazało się pięć. ”The Ritual of the Rave” jest szóstą pozycją w tej serii reedycji i jest rozszerzoną edycją płyty z 1995 roku. Album nic nie stracił ze swojej świeżości przez te lata. To elektronika z silnymi wpływami ambient i muzyki etnicznej zamkniętych w sześciu długich, powoli rozwijających się kompozycjach. Gdzieniegdzie pojawiają się elementy rytmiczne zaczerpnięte wprost z techno (co zapowiadało kolejne propozycje belgijskiego projektu). ”Icarus” czy ”Sjamanistic Dream” to nadal klasyczne kompozycje w katalogu Hybryds.

Grupa została założona w 1989 roku w holenderskim Oss przez dwóch braci - Hansa i Renego Ruttenów oraz Barta Smitsa. Nazwę muzycy zaczerpnęli z filmu "Nieśmiertelny" z Christopherem Lambertem w roli głównej. Zgromadzenie oznaczało zebranie się wszystkich nieśmiertelnych pozostałych przy życiu w jednym miejscu.

Początkowo stylistyka zespołu oscylowała pomiędzy doom metalem a metalem gotyckim. Przełom w karierze Holendrów nastąpił w 1995 roku wraz z wydaniem albumu "Mandylion", ich pierwszego dokonania z Anneke van Giersbergen na wokalu. Na piątym longplayu studyjnym, zatytułowanym "How to Measure a Planet?", formacja fundamentalnie zmieniła swoje brzmienie, kierując się w stronę rocka alternatywnego.

"Ssssh" to pierwszy album Ten Years After, który został doceniony także po drugiej stronie Atlantyku. Zapewne był to efekt udanego występu grupy na festiwalu Woodstock, który zbiegł się w czasie z premierą longplaya (w sierpniu 1969 roku). Sukces szedł jednak w tym przypadku w parze z artystyczną wartością. "Ssssh" idealnie wpasował się w swój czas. Zespół wrócił tu do swoich bluesowych korzeni (od których oddalił się nieco na wydanym kilka miesięcy wcześniej, także w 1969 roku, "Stonedhenge"), a jednocześnie zabrzmiał ostrzej i ciężej niż kiedykolwiek wcześniej, zbliżając się do zyskującego wówczas coraz większą popularność hard rocka. Ale nie zabrakło tu eksperymentów z innymi stylami - choć tym razem są bardziej przemyślane i nie szkodzą spójności albumu.

If you like old-school Swedeath, old-school black metal, old-school doom, then, sorry, you won’t like this album at all. That was my pitiful attempt at sarcasm. The Sarcasm in question here are a Swedish melodic blackened death metal group who have been knocking about since the late ‘80s. Their veteran status in the scene shows they take their craft a whole lot more seriously than their name might let on. It also prompts the question of whether music that follows a blueprint now 30 years old can still be exciting and compelling, particularly to those too young to feel the nostalgia factor. As someone who sits directly on the Millennial/Gen-Z divide, I can confidently say that Stellar Stream Obscured shows that yeah, it absolutely can.

Sarcasm’s particular blend of heavy music is fun and (mostly) furious. This is a concept album—precisely about what, I don’t know. From what I can gather it’s something to do with aliens bringin
