Szwedzi z Dark Tranquillity od ponad trzech dekad konsekwentnie budują swoją pozycję jako jednego z najważniejszych twórców w kręgu melodyjnego death metalu. Właśnie ukazała się ich nowa płyta „Endtime Signals”. Czy potwierdzili świetną formę z poprzednich wydawnictw?

Album „Endtime Signals” zespołu Dark Tranquillity to wydawnictwo, które ukazuje zespół w bardzo dobrej formie, mimo ponad trzech dekadach działalności na scenie muzycznej i przetasowań w składzie, które ostatnio miały miejsce.

Jest to trzynasty studyjny longplay w dorobku grupy i stanowi on swoiste podsumowanie ich artystycznej drogi, łącząc elementy charakterystyczne dla różnych etapów ich kariery, ale jednocześnie wprowadzając świeżość oraz nową energię. To właśnie ta umiejętność łączenia tradycji z nowoczesnością czyni „Endtime Signals” płytą tak interesującą i godną uwagi. Diabeł jednak jak zwykle tkwi w szczegółach...
Holistyczne podejście

Dark Tranquillity od zawsze było zespołem, który wprowadzał innowacje do melodyjnego death metalu, czego dowodem są takie albumy jak „Projector” (1999) czy „Haven” (2000), gdzie muzycy z powodzeniem eksperymentowali z elektroniką i nieoczywistymi rozwiązaniami w zakresie budowy utworów. Na „Endtime Signals” zespół ponownie pokazuje zdolność do przekształcania i odświeżania swojego stylu, wprowadzając nowe elementy, które wzbogacają i rozwijają ich charakterystyczne brzmienie.

Wspomniana już różnorodność stylistyczna utworów jest elementem, który szczególnie się wybija podczas pierwszego kontaktu z „Endtime Signals”. Otwierający album „Shivers and Voids” to klasyczny przykład późnego okresu twórczości Dark Tranquillity, z melancholijnym, ale dostojnym tempem i krystalicznie czystą, techniczną produkcją.
