Pierwszy pełny album Helloween skazany jest nieco na byt w cieniu słynnych "Keeperów", jednak trzeba przyznać, że mamy tu do czynienia z zespołem będącym w naprawdę świetnej formie. Wszystkie utwory zagrane są z niesamowitą pasją i wykopem. Zespół pracuje perfekcyjnie - mamy tu perkusyjne galopady, szybkie riffy, liczne, doskonałe solówki obu gitarzystów, mknący w szaleńczym tempie bas i wrzaskliwy, często przechodzący w imponujące falsety głos Kaia Hansena.

Muzyce Hellowen wciąż bliżej do thrashu niż do power metalu choć... w patetycznym, śpiewnym refrenie Guardians zdecydowanie słychać już klimaty charakterystyczne dla tego drugiego gatunku. Niemniej, taki właśnie, speedmetalowy Halloween nie jest wcale gorszy od tego z późniejszych "Keeperów".
