Nasty Savage's "Indulgence" is one of the divine albums which embody the fascinating liveliness and the wealth of the early thrash metal scene. The pioneering spirit, the will to explore new dimensions, the courage to create something different - "Indulgence" offers these elements in abundance. Apart from this excellent feature, the full-length shows that the band members had already achieved a more than solid degree of musicianship. Probably due to this fact, Nasty Savage did not head for the most extreme approach. They had a more clever idea. The band just wanted to form a unique product and it was successful. Already the cover seeks its equal. Instead of trying to shock with a bloodthirsty image, the band chose a surrealistic, atmospheric artwork. But this was just the first sign of the band's independence.

Po trzech latach od wydania “Walk the Sky” zespół Alter Bridge powraca z nowym albumem. Płyta została zatytułowana “Pawns & Kings”, co od razu sugeruje nam epicki i monumentalny materiał. Wrażenie to nie znika, a wręcz potęguje się wraz z zapoznaniem się z muzyczną i tekstową zawartością płyty. Czyżbyśmy mieli do czynienia z kandydatem na rockowy album roku?

Już za dwa lata zespół Alter Bridge będzie świętować swoje dwudziestolecie. Śmierć Kliniczna urodziła się jesienią 1981 roku w Gliwicach. Działając bez nazwy (propozycje typu Diesel czy Uśmiech Modliszki – odpadły) na dobre zaistniała wiosną 1982, kiedy to do ojców zespołu, czyli Darka Duszy, Wojtka Jaczyczko i Marka Czapelskiego dołączył wokalista Jerzy Mercik vel Mercedes. Pierwsze dźwięki usłyszała gliwicka publiczność w klubie Gwarek, a potem owo dziecię pokazało się wielotysięcznej rzeszy spragnionych tego typu muzyki w Jarocinie '82, gdzie zagrali obok kilku punkowych kapel (m.in. Dezertera, Bikini, WC, Rejestracji). Po tym Jarocinie Śmierć znalazła się w filmie Pawła Karpińskiego Jarocin 82, a następnie w 1983 roku ten sam reżyser nakręcił film o zespole zatytułowany po prostu Śmierć Kliniczna. Kariera zaczyna się rozkręcać. Wstawka zawiera single zespołu nagrane w studio.

Giovanni Giorgio Moroder (ur. 26 kwietnia 1940 w Ortisei) to włoski muzyk, kompozytor, producent muzyczny, autor tekstów oraz DJ. Moroder został trzykrotnie wyróżniony Oscarem, w 1979 za ścieżkę dźwiękową do filmu Midnight Express, w 1984 roku za napisanie muzyki do piosenki Flashdance…What a Feeling, wreszcie w 1987 za piosenkę Take My Breath Away z filmu Top Gun. Był założycielem nieistniejącego już dziś studia Musicland Studios, mającego swą siedzibę w Monachium. Często podejmował współpracę z autorem tekstów Pete’em Bellotte, z którym zrealizował albumy Son Of My Father (1972) i From Here to Eternity (1977). Płyty te odniosły wielki sukces w Wielkiej Brytanii. W pracy z syntezatorami inspirowała go muzyka elektroniczna, w tym new wave i techno. Wstawka zawiera drugi album Giorgio Morodera, z czasów, kiedy jeszcze nie zainteresował się muzyką elektroniczną. Poza trzema nowymi utworami, to powtórka z pierwszej płyty.

Jeśli myślicie, że Szwajcaria to tylko Celtic Frost i Coroner, to jesteście w błędzie. Z niewielkiego miasta Baar pochodzi założony w 1984 roku Messiah, który parał się konglomeratem death metalu z thrashem.

Po wydaniu paru demówek dostają w końcu kontrakt z Chainsaw Murder, dla którego wychodzi debiut Hymn to Abramerlin. To piękne obskurny thrash na sterydach, taki cios w stylu Persecution Mania Sodomu czy Seven Churches Possessed. Druga płyta to Extreme Cold Weather z misiem polarnym na okładce. Album to krótki, niemniej zespół docisnął pedał i materiał na nim zawarty jest już cięższy i agresywniejszy. Wszystko to opakowane w szorstkie brzmienie i antyklerykalne teksty, w którym dostało się nawet naszemu Santo Subito JP II.

Ostre jeb…cie i do rzeczy! Szwedzki death metal z melodyką godną Vital Remains to pierwsze skojarzenia z drugim albumem Incarnal Mortuary Cult, który u mnie gości. Co prawda okładka nieco nieczytelna, ale cały booklet jest utrzymany w klimatycznej tonacji. Zatem pierwsze wrażenia po zapoznaniu się z płytą mam pozytywne, widać od razu, że wszystko jest dopracowane. A co z zawartością?

Night of… to konkretne tempo wsparte perfekcyjnym basem i do tego solówki, które tak umiejętnie u siebie wplatają właśnie wspomniani powyżej Amerykanie. Od razu zaznaczam, że to nie są sola rodem z Deicide, gdzie Santolla osłabiał cały ładunek agresji, i w efekcie moc całego albumu. Na Incarnal to pozorne zmiękczenie i melodyka tylko wspierają ogólną masywność i dodają charakteru poszczególnym kompozycjom.
Perkusja wydaje się oszczędna, bynajmniej nie słaba! Nie, po prostu głównym akcentem, pierwszym dominującym wrażeniem tnowego Incarnal jest t

Na polskim i światowym rynku pojawia się cały czas bardzo wiele reedycji. Nie wszystkie diamenty zostały jednak wykopane i pokazane. Jednym z nich jest debiutancki album Angerparth. Album oryginalnie wydany w 2007 roku po latach nadal brzmi świeżo i zdecydowanie jest warty ocalenia od zapomnienia!
Na potrzeby reedycji płyta została ponownie zmixowana, ożywiona nowym brzmieniem garów, całość dostała nowego szlifu oraz nabrała "nowego życia".
Angerpath to wyjątkowe combo w składzie którego znajdziemy cały skład progresywnego zespołu NewBreed + Pachu/Hostia na wokalach. Naturalną koleją rzeczy oraz znakami firmowymi jest więc melodia, feeling, odpowiednie jebnięcie i brutalny, old schoolowy growl.
Nikt tutaj nie sili się na wymyślanie koła na nowo, jednak na "Forgotten World" czuć doświadczenie, lata spędzone z instrumentami oraz na deskach sceny. Jest własny, wyjątkowy pierwiastek.

Nothing trendy, nothing wimpy, nothing pretentious, just fuelled by aggression and kick ass riffs. Violation Wound is not interested in modern, plastic or safe crap, instead honoring the raw, dirty and pissed off ways of the original innovators, while carving out a path all of their own.
