Konwent A został utworzony w maju 83 w Gdańsku przez trzech kumpli kończących szkołę podstawową. Zanim pod koniec 84 roku do grupy dołączyła Żaneta, zespół zdążył zagrać parę koncertów podczas których w składzie znaleźli się jeszcze Krzysztof Jajczyk - keyboards and Jacek Szymanski - vocal. Od początku 85 roku w Konwencie A grali praktycznie do końca: Żaneta Mikulska - voc, Parocz - git, voc, Waldi - bass oraz Pierzak - dr. Nazwa Konwent A wzięta była od polskich antykomunistycznych grup działających przed drugą wojną światową.
