Nie przesadzę za bardzo, jeżeli powiem, że czekałem na ten album ponad dwa lata. Owszem, w międzyczasie Helloween wydali "Metal Jukebox", ale nie można tego wydawnictwa traktować jako pełnoprawnego albumu... Ot, taka niespodzianka dla fanów z okazji jubileuszu istnienia. Dlatego kiedy tylko dowiedziałem się o planowanym na koniec października nowym materiale grupy, moje metalowe serce zabiło mocniej. Poprzedzający płytę singiel "If I Could Fly" rozbudził moje nadzieje na wielki i wspaniały album... no i nie zawiodłem się!

Płytę otwiera bardzo ciemny i mroczny "Beyond The Portal", trwający niespełna minutę. Zaraz potem zaczyna się konkretna jazda. Drugi w kolejce "Mr. Torture" to utwór mający potężnego kopa i jako opener sprawdza się jeszcze lepiej niż jego stary kolega "Push" z albumu "Better Than Raw". Tekst utworu przywodzi mi na myśl historię o doktorze Steinie z wiadomego krążka ("Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part II" - przyp. red.). Zresztą Helloween zawsze mieli n

Ech, pokręcony ten maj. Jak nie sesje studenckie, to matura w liceum. Jak nie matura, to obsuwka związana z datą wydania albumu. Wszystko się miesza, a więc i terminy recenzji wymykają się wszelkim wcześniejszym ustaleniom, toteż dziś na przekór wszystkiemu wypada moja kolej. Zgodnie z obietnicą na pewien czas zabieram was z mrocznych krain elektroniki, a zabieram ja was do (tu niespodzianka :) ) Finlandii! Album, który dzisiaj opiszę, to szóste pełne wydawnictwo grupy z Joensuu grającej melodic death metal, a więc gatunek powoli wchodzący do mojej osobistej ścisłej czołówki.

Nie będę specjalnie się rozwodził nad historią Insomnium, bo jej nie znam. Shadows Of The Dying Sun to pierwsze wydawnictwo tegoż zespołu, z którym mam do czynienia i wcześniejsza dyskografia jest dla mnie tajemnicą. Z Wikipedii uzyskałem parę suchych faktów, z których warto przekazać Wam tyle, że zespół został założony w 1997 roku, pierwszy long-play wydał dopiero 5 lat później, ale co dość waż

Stara metalowa gwardia trzyma się mocno i nie daje za wygraną. Jag Panzer, amerykańska kapela, w pewnych kręgach nawet kultowa... Nagrali parę bardzo dobrych, a także kilka niezłych płyt. Ewidentnie słabych nie pamiętam. Sława ich ominęła, dużych pieniędzy z grania też nie zarobili, parę bandów zdążyli jednak zainspirować... Czego więc mógłbym spodziewać się po płycie Jag Panzer w jubileuszowym dla nich (trzy dekady od powołania do życia) 2011 roku? Solidnego materiału - na pewno. Ale czegoś na miarę "The Scourge of Light" raczej nie. Tym bardziej czuję się mile zaskoczony.

Już "Condemned To Fight" pozytywnie nakręca słuchacza i zwiastuje, że będzie dobrze. To jednak preludium do 3 minut i 26 sekund piękna, które zwie się "The Setting Of The Sun" - podniosłej kompozycji z partiami smyków oraz refrenem, który na długo zostaje w pamięci. Chciałoby się posłuchać dłużej... Z obłoków na ziemię sprowadzają nas mocne dźwięki "Bringing On The End". O tym kawałku można powi
